News and Reflections: "Indigenous health-care unit opens at Maniwaki Hospital" -- March 28, 20193/28/2019
"Indigenous health-care unit opens at Maniwaki Hospital: 1-stop service centre tailored to residents of Kitigan Zibi, Lac-Barrière" ... by CBC News (March 26, 2019) "7 minutes of Tintamarre" was recorded live, at the 2014 CMA. There are other local Tintamarres to enjoy such as the one held in Clare, Nova Scotia, at festival time (in late July and August). Regard the relentless and celebratory noise of your Acadian cousins! The following story, "The Legend of Cape Saint Mary, is excerpted from the book, Along the Shores of Saint Mary's Bay by J. Alphonse Deveau. The original book was printed by the University of Sainte-Anne, Church Point, Nova Scotia, in 1977. Joseph Jacquard, President, AAMS, recalls Alphonse Deveau "I knew him from when I was at University Ste Anne and attended a couple of his book launches. The book launches were formal wine and cheese affairs and the wine (Alphonse's favourite) was horrible and terribly dry. The cheese and fruit trays were a treat and nice change for a University student (poor as a church rat)." Thanks to Chris Boudreau for locating Alphonse Deveau's book.
