AAMS at work in the Community:  Earth Day tree planting at Villa St. Joseph du Lac -- April 23, 2019

On Tuesday April 23rd, at 1:30 PM, the Association des Acadiens-Métis Souriquois (AAMS) joined with the Villa St. Joseph du Lac in a tree planting ceremony in celebration of Earth Day.  Thanks to former AAMS director Robert Muise, the Nova Scotia red spruce's journey from Quinan to Villa St. Joseph was safe and uneventful.

Nova Scotia red spruce tree ready for planting in celebration of Earth Day. The hole was pre-watered by a preceding week of rain. The red spruce can grow to a ripe old age of 300 years. It is the official tree on the Province of Nova Scotia.
