AAMS member Sébastien Mallet has been awarded an over two hundred-thousand-dollar grant from Social Sciences and Human Rights Council Insight. He also has an impressive line of collaborators: Anthropologists, Drs. Michel Bouchard (UNBC), Siomonn Pulla (Royal Roads University) and Denis Gagnon (University of Saint-Boniface). From the announcement: "As an associate professor of Law and Legal Studies, Sebastien Malette has focused on unrecognized Métis and non-status Indigenous communities in the Eastern provinces of Canada. He is the co-author of three books on the subject, including his latest, entitled Bois-Brulés: The untold story of the Métis of Western Québec (UBC, 2020)." This announcement is for free workshops to be given in Acadian French. Topics are "How to use virtual technology and the Internet" plus workshops on mental health. The workshops start July 27th 2020 and run for four weeks. More information can be found within the links provided and the attached.
